Jude Bellingham responded to James Maddison’s Instagram post after the latter’s brilliant performance in Tottenham Hotspur’s 2-2 Premier League tie against Arsenal on Sunday (September 25).

The Gunners seized the lead twice in a tense North London rivalry, but Ange Postecoglou’s team came back on both occasions. After dominating the early stages, Mikel Arteta’s team took the lead when a Bukayo Saka curler was deflected into his own goal by Spurs defender Cristian Romero.

Maddison, on the other hand, outmaneuvered Saka on the outskirts of the box before crossing to Son Heung-min, who made no mistake in restoring parity.

Saka scored from the penalty spot to give the Gunners the lead early in the second half. Spurs, on the other hand, responded instantly, with Maddison playing in Son to cap off a devastating comeback. Both teams sought a victory but were forced to settle for a split of the spoils.

Postecoglou’s team had a great performance from James Maddison. Aside from his two assists, the offensive midfielder had 42 touches, 24 correct passes, three vital passes, and two major opportunities created. He also dribbled twice and missed a shot (according to Sofascore).

Following the game, the Englishman shared the following on Instagram, naming his captain Son Heung-min:

“That was a proper football game.” Finally, we agreed on certain points and moved on.”

Bellingham replied to his countryman’s tweet by saying:

“Class”
