Despite Carlo Ancelotti’s remark that Real Madrid’s team was complete, the club is still interested in acquiring Kylian Mbappe this summer. The Spanish club is looking for a striker but may go elsewhere if the PSG star does not join them this week.

According to El Nacional, Florentino Perez has said that the club is ready to make a bid for a striker if Mbappe rejects a transfer this summer. The Real Madrid president is aware of PSG’s exorbitant demands, but is optimistic that their asking price will fall before the conclusion of the window.

According to the Spanish source, the ‘Plan B’ and ‘Plan C’ objectives are Juventus’ Dusan Vlahovic and Inter Milan’s Lautaro Martinez. They don’t have a preference between the two, but are keeping an eye on both in case a last-ditch bid for Mbappe fails.

At Real Madrid, Ancelotti has altered his style and pushed new acquisition Jude Bellingham to play as a False 9. Perez is looking for a striker to help him win titles this season.

The Italian management claimed that their window had been completed and stated:

Without a doubt. No new players will be added. It’s over, everybody’s on the same page now. As relayed by Fabrizio Romano.

This summer, Los Blancos inked permanent contracts with Jude Bellingham, Arda Guler, and Fran Garcia. They also signed two loan players, Kepa Arrizabalaga from Chelsea and Josel from Espanyol.

Kylian Mbappe's desire to play at Real Madrid remains strong

Last summer, Kylian Mbappe was on the verge of joining Real Madrid on a free transfer. He did, however, sign a new contract with PSG, extending his tenure by at least two seasons.

Mbappe told the BBC after signing that he was not given up on his goal of playing for Real Madrid. He went on to say that the move was made to benefit PSG:

It’s impossible to predict what will occur in the future. I give up and start planning for the future. My new three-year deal with Paris St. Germain is the only thing on my mind right now.

Kylian Mbappe notified PSG earlier this summer that he would not be exercising his contract’s optional year. The Ligue 1 club has been trying to transfer him but has only had one bid from Al Hilal, which the attacker has rejected.
