Carlo Ancelotti allegedly feels Vinicius Junior might make a return for Real Madrid against Atletico Madrid in the La Liga rivalry on September 24.
The Brazilian superstar suffered a hamstring injury in Los Blancos’ 1-0 league victory against Celta Vigo on August 25 and was replaced by Joselu in the 18th minute. The visitors took all three points thanks to a late goal by Jude Bellingham.
To avoid putting pressure on Vinicius, the club did not set a comeback date for his injury. However, according to El Nacional, Real Madrid’s medical staff has contributed to Ancelotti’s star striker’s early comeback.
The Italian strategist reportedly thinks Vinicius will be able to play for Real Madrid against Atletico Madrid after the international break. Prior to that, the La Liga heavyweights face Real Sociedad in the league and Union Berlin in the UEFA Champions League group stage.
The Real Madrid winger is scheduled to miss both games after missing their 2-1 La Liga victory over Getafe on September 2. He is Los Merengues’ premier attacker, along with Rodrygo Goes, and is charged with replacing Karim Benzema, who moved for Al-Ittihad in the summer.
So far this season, the 23-year-old has scored once in three league outings. During the previous season, he scored 23 goals and had 21 assists in 55 appearances across all competitions.
