The MLS logo Lionel Messi is back loving football, according to Jimmy Conrad.

The former Sporting Kansas City star says that despite having Kylian Mbappe and Neymar on his team, the Argentine’s time at PSG was unpleasant.

Messi has had an outstanding start to his career with Inter Miami, helping them win the League Cup. So far, the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner has 11 goals in nine MLS appearances.

Conrad revealed on the ‘In Soccer We Trust’ podcast that Messi had regained his grin on the field. He went on to say that Messi’s time at PSG was miserable:

“When I watch him play now, he appears to be having a lot of fun and has a big smile on his face.” I can’t tell you how essential it is for a player to do, particularly at this stage in his career when he’s been through so much, especially in comparison to what occurred in Paris with PSG, when he seemed unhappy.”

He added:

“He was playing with Mbappe and Neymar and was surrounded by some of the best players in the world, but that doesn’t guarantee happiness.” Especially if he’s returning home and his family is unhappy. [Now] they all simply seem to be having a great time, which is fantastic. It’s already visible on the pitch.”

Lionel Messi made his Major League Soccer debut last week. The Argentine might make his league debut at home on Wednesday (August 30) against Nashville SC, whom they beat in the Leagues Cup final.

Messi has said that he did not want to play for PSG

Lionel Messi has said that he is excited to join Inter Miami and that he chose to join the MLS club because he wants to be here. He also said that his choice to join PSG was not fully his own, since he had never intended to leave Barcelona.

During a news conference earlier this month, the Argentine remarked to the media:

“I made the decision to come here.” I really wanted to come here. And it’s a choice we made with regard to time. It wasn’t something we decided one day and changed our minds the next. We’ve arrived at our destination. We made the choice. That simplifies and simplifies everything.”

“It wasn’t something I wanted to do when I went to Paris.” I was reluctant to leave Barcelona. In some respects, it was like going from one day to the next. I had to adjust to a totally different environment than where I had spent my whole life. But it has nothing to do with my experience here.”

During his two-year tenure with PSG, Lionel Messi appeared in 75 matches. He has 32 goals and 35 assists while helping PSG win the league in both seasons.
